Dr. Mona Jain: The Inspiring Educational Legacy of Dr. Mona Jain

Mohinder “Mona” Jain, M.D., Ph.D. (1936-2023) was a medical doctor and educator. Born in India, Jain earned two bachelor degrees from Delhi University, a master’s from Florida State University, a Ph.D. from the University of South Florida, an Ed. S. from NOVA University, and a medical degree the from Spartan Health Sciences University School of Medicine. Fifty years ago, a Fulbright award brought her to Florida. She served as an educator and administrator for the American, British and Indian educational systems. The Dr. Mona Jain Middle School in Bradenton, Florida is named in her honor. During a visit back to India, she was granted a private audience with the legendary humanitarian Mother Teresa.
