Frank “Shake ‘n Bake” Streety is an athletics advocate who played with the Harlem Globetrotters. Born in Harlem, New York, his childhood was challenging. With natural athletic abilities, he excelled in basketball and earned scholarships to New York’s Broome Technical Junior College and Kentucky’s Murry State University, where he was a stand-out player. He was recruited by the Detroit Pistons and the Harlem Globetrotters. He joined the Globetrotters, and retired from the team in 1972. Today, he speaks at youth programs and camps motivating boys and girls to stay in school, attend college and graduate – especially students interested in sports.
