George C. Henry was a legacy Black farmer and landowner. Born into a Black landowning family that emerged in the early 1900s, he was a cooperative extension agent for Florida A&M University who helped Black landowners and farmers build cooperatives and farmers’ markets to serve local communities and Leon County at large.
